Week 5: Research Methodology

1. What do you want to find out?
2. How do you want to find it out?
3 What is your achievement?
4. What exactly means to you?
5. What would you do?

Research methodology simply means the methods that will be using fot this project containing case studies, survey, interview and obsevatory experiences.

Case Study 1
Objective: To learn the insights of reusing the material and putting in to productive use.

1
Favela chair is a design inspired from Brazilian environment surrounding them. The design is drawn by observing a specific architectural housing complex which are very common in Brazil, commonly known as Favela. Favela is made out of scrap pieces of pinewood by fitting those pieces, piece-by-piece arranging them into one another according to their forms. This makes this chair an unique product. And completely hand made. The Favela Chair is a perfect portrayal of Campanas ideation process. The design has a combination of the  Brazilian surroundings - by observing a specific architectural housing complex, called Favela.
Design concept also shows the use of waste pine wood to create a new product. This concept also helps to solve a problem to the disposal of the material which would not be used anymore.
Conclusion: The thought to analyze and look around in our environment would help use to find a solution for a better development of the product and this makes the Favela Chair a product of solution and concept. By showing the combined concept of reusing the wood and giving it a form of use and function.
